Vote for the People's Choice Community Project in Suffolk

Shortlisting Criteria.

A judging panel will assess the Community Project Showcase entries.
A shortlist of 5 projects will be announced on Facebook on 18th July and will be open for Facebook voting. The winning community project will be filmed and showcased at the Awards ceremony 3rd November at Milsom's Kesgrave Hall.

The project needs to involve getting people active

The shortlisted projects must be active in Suffolk and demonstrate:

  • Local leadership, building relationships with the local community and local businesses
  • Effective levels of customer engagement
  • Evidence of impact on members of the local community
  • Evidence of sustainability and project development
  • Evidence of inclusivity - all ages and abilities

The Shortlisted projects are:

  • Bury St Edmunds Junior Park Run

Park run event aimed at 4-14 year olds in the Bury St Edmunds area looking to get fit and active. The group promotes parents and family members to support or participate alongside their juniors.

  • Great Run Local Needham Lake

Running group at Needham Lake encouraging anyone and everyone from babies to grannies and grandads, particularly those who are inactive, getting the whole family involved regardless of their age, shape, fitness or ability. Making it fun to run ensuring no one feels intimidated taking those first steps to a healthier lifestyle. The family dog is welcome too!

  • iCan Run Club

A friendly running group encouraging women of all ages and abilities (whether complete beginners or already run), who may lack the confidence to get out and off the sofa and get running!

  • Lowestoft Boxing Academy

Voluntary boxing academy encouraging everyone, from you to old or all backgrounds offering one to one coaching making boxing accessible through funded work, training, public services and charity events.

  • Suffolk Trail Runners

A voluntary group of people have travelled across Suffolk finding scenic trails and footpaths for the group of runners and walkers to use. A friendly and helpful running group, running through the idyllic villages and countryside on our doorstep in Suffolk. The running routes are aimed at everyone and anyone, promoting fitness and wellbeing. They meet and finish at a lovely collection of public houses creating a lovely social event alongside being active.
