Comic Relief Active Ageing: Creating Change in Communities

Amount: £40,000 to £80,000

A limited number of grants are available for community based organisations in the UK which have 'creative, fresh' approaches to get older people, especially those from disadvantaged communities, involved in social action.

Veolia Environmental Trust Reopens for Applications

Amount: £10,000 to £75,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Thu 31st August, 2017

The Veolia Environmental Trust offers grants of up to £75,000 for projects located within the proximity of a qualifying Veolia site in England or Wales. Match funding of at least 20% is required, and applicants requesting grants of £40,000 or more require a Third Party Contribution.

The funding is available for capital improvement projects at a single site with discrete start and end dates.

Support Family Based Projects

Amount: £1,000 to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 1st September, 2017

Registered charities whose activities involve all or most family members in initiatives that support and encourage the family to work as a cohesive unit in tackling problems that face one or more of its members can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 through the Kelly Family Charitable Trust.

Fields in Trust - Active Spaces programme

Amount: up to £5,000

Round Deadline: 12:00am - Fri 15th September, 2017

The Active Spaces programme combines the protection in perpetuity of green spaces, together with revenue funding to engage inactive people on those spaces. Each site will be offered delivery of a physical activity project on-site to the value of £5,000 to serve local needs and target identified groups of inactive people.

Tackle Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage Fund

Round Deadline: 11:12am - Sat 16th September, 2017

Sport England have announced that they will be launching a new £3 million "Tackling Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage" funding round in mid-April 2017 for projects that target inactive people who have little income.

Organisations that can demonstrate their ability to deliver quality volunteering opportunities have until the 24th April 2017 to apply to Sport England's new Potentials Fund.

The Mick George Community Fund

Amount: £5,000 to £50,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Wed 27th September, 2017

The Mick George Community Fund has roughly £200,000 available to community projects that meet the criteria per year. In order to submit a loan application all projects must be located within the vicinity of a Mick George site and operating area.

The Local Community Projects Fund helps organisations based in local communities to deliver projects or provide equipment to people in need at the heart of our local communities. The programme is administered by seven charity committees throughout England, Wales and Scotland.

Play Tennis Fund

Amount: up to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 3rd November, 2017

The Play Tennis Fund is a small grants funding scheme aimed at supporting the tennis network across Britain in establishing effective local projects to grow tennis participation. Projects can apply for a maximum of £5,000 from the Play Tennis Fund and can target any age group of participants from 12 years of age upwards.

These Heart Research UK and Subway® Healthy Heart Grants are available thanks to the fundraising done in Subway® stores and through the Subway Helping Hearts™ Family 5Ks. They are available for new, original and innovative projects that actively promote Heart Health and help to prevent, or reduce, the risk of heart disease near you.

Department of Health Funding for Childrens Activity and Sports Prostheses

Amount: up to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Thu 1st March, 2018

The Department of Health has made the decision to fully fund sports and activity prostheses for children in England who have suffered from limb loss or were born with a limb deficiency. Up until now, there has been no dedicated funding available for children's activity or sports limbs.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children (6th September 2017)

Date: Wed, 06 Sep 2017 (18:30 - 21:30)

A required course for all Suffolk Sport topcoaches but is open to all. This workshop covers protecting yourself and the young people you work with by following good practice. Learn to recognise signs of abuse and what to do if you have concerns. This course forms part of the minimum standards for coaches.
