About Be Inspired

Be Inspired is a series of voluntary internship programmes, which aim to provide 18-24 year olds the opportunity to gain invaluable insight and experience in sports development, whilst supporting Suffolk Sports partners to develop sport/physical activity in Suffolk. We are looking for young adults looking to gain work in sport who ideally, but not necessarily, have completed a sports related qualification either delivered through an FE or HE institution, or National Governing Body of Sport i.e. coaching qualification.

By utilising the skills and knowledge of Suffolk Sport the Be Inspired programme will provide a unique and life changing opportunity to those young adults wanting to pursue a career in sport development and the many varied roles within it.

We're looking for:

• 18- 24 year olds.
• Unemployed in the sport sector.
• Preferably hold at least one qualification related to the development and/or delivery of sport and physical activity i.e. coaching qualification, NVQ, Degree etc.
• A willingness to undertake additional training as appropriate.
• An interest in pursuing a career in the sport industry.

Be Inspired Ipswich

Be Inspired Ipswich offers an opportunity for 6 young adults who are at risk of offending or have previously offended to complete an internship with Ipswich Borough Council in the leisure sector. The programme will be running throughout 2017 in partnership with Suffolk Police in the hope of improving chances for you guys of getting a job in the leisure industry.

Be Inspired iCAN offers the opportunity for young adults to complete internships focusing on disability sport.

Be Inspired Too

Be Inspired Too was set-up to offer 8 young adults internships in sport throughout 2016.

This was a very successful scheme with 7 18 - 24 year olds completing a work placement and going on to gain paid employment, 1 is still in post.
