Physical Activity for Adults
Active Well-being
The Active Wellbeing project will follow on from the success of other campaigns such as ‘Get Back Into’ and ‘Everyday Swim’, both of which have been successful in increasing adult participation. The emphasis on increasing participation in physical activity has never been more important – the benefits are endless. Regular physical activity is associated with better health and is beneficial throughout life; it can help reduce the risk of developing a number of conditions including heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis. It can also help prevent and manage stress, anxiety and depression. For general health benefit, adults should achieve a total of at least 30 minutes per day of at least moderate activity on 5 or more days of the week.
The Active Wellbeing project is funded by Suffolk County Council and Sport England. The project focuses on increasing participation and physical activity opportunities for adults across Suffolk. The project delivers a variety of projects from golf to tai chi, badminton to keep fit; we hope that there will be something of interest for everyone. Find out about what's available.
