
Judo at The Redrow Homes Suffolk Youth Games
The sport of Judo was successfully represented at the Suffolk Youth Games as a demonstration event for the fourth year running.
Twenty seven young Judo players were in attendance with the event aimed specifically at novice to 3rd mon players in Suffolk.
The team of volunteers running the event was led by Denise Oates, Eastern Area Chairmen.
Each player registered and was then matched against players of equally weight, experience and age in pools of 2-3.
Every player received a medal at the end of the event presented by, British Judo Coach, David Oates along with a Suffolk Youth goodie bag and a British Judo goodie bag.
Eight Suffolk clubs were in attendance at the event with Kumo Judo Club finishing top of the medal table with 3 Golds closely followed by Black Dog Judo Club with 2 Gold medals.
Many thanks to the volunteers who gave their time freely to assist in the smooth running of the event, Zoe and Michelle Camp who worked the tables, Stuart Appleby and Stuart Collings who refereed the contests.
