Senior Competition Manager - Cambridgeshire County Council

Cambridge City and South Cambs School Sport Partnerships

Starting salary: £25,472 per annum

Fixed term contract until March 2011 initially ~ start date negotiable

Location: Based at Comberton Village College in the first instance working across South Cambs and Cambridge City SSPs

We require a committed PE/sport professional to work strategically across a number of schools in two School Sport Partnerships in Cambridge City and South Cambs School Sport Partnership. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The role will be to plan and manage a programme of competitive activities for young people using the National Competition Framework and linking them to other strands of the PESSYP Strategy and relevant national programmes. You will link with relevant agencies to ensure that the competitions framework is successful and sustainable.

You will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and have relevant experience of either sports development work or teaching. You will have knowledge and experience of School Sports Partnerships, sports development planning, implementation of project management and event planning and organisation.

This post is for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with 23 days holiday entitlement.

Sports Coaches Required - University Campus Suffolk

University Campus Suffolk (UCS) Students' Union sports teams need coaches to train the squads for the coming season. The teams are to be trained in readiness for their league games and friendlies. The teams compete in the British Universities & Colleges Sport league, but also provide a source of enjoyment for players who wish to train purely recreationally.

Coaches required are:

  • Badminton (mixed): a Level 2 or 3 qualified coach. Training Thursday evenings, 7.15-9.15pm at Holywells High School sportsdome. Two hours per week during term time.
  • Women’s Football: a Level 2 or 3 qualified coach. Training Monday evenings, 6-8pm at Rushmere Sports Club. Two hours per week during term time, to be reviewed at Christmas.
  • Hockey (mixed): a Level 2 or 3 qualified coach. Training Monday evenings, 6-8pm at Gainsborough Sports Centre. Two hours per week during term time.
  • Rugby: a Level 2 or 3 qualified coach. Training Monday evenings, 7-9pm, at Ipswich Rugby Club. Two hours per week during term time.

Pay will depend on level of qualification plus level of experience.
