COACH EDUCATION

Suffolk Sport organises a year round program of workshops and generic courses for all sports including Safeguarding, First Aid and Equity and are aimed at coaches and volunteers of all levels and experience.

Most of our workshops are certificated and recognised by NGBs as meeting Continuous Professional Development requirements and meeting accreditation criteria. Due to funding from Sport England we are able to offer these courses at a heavily subsidised rate. If your club has gained accreditation, you are eligible for the lowest rate of payment with most workshops costing just £10.

EMPLOYING COACHES (PAID AND VOLUNTARY)

Coaches are the life-blood of sport. It is important that clubs and other organisations are able to recruit enough coaches to operate effectively, but it is also important that these coaches are supported to help them develop and to make them feel valued. Suffolk Sport, in conjunction with Living Sport, has produced 'Employing Coaches - A Good Practice Guide for Paid and Voluntary Coaches'. This takes organisations through the entire process of recruitment, selection and support, and is full of useful information and examples. (See document below)

COACHING STRATEGY

Suffolk Sport has developed a Long-Term Coaching Strategy for the county. (See document below).

GUIDANCE ON BEHAVIOUR

It is important that everyone within your club knows what is or is not acceptable conduct. Codes of Conduct can help clarify to your members what you expect and what is appropriate. Suffolk Sport has produced three codes of conduct for coaches, players and parents / carers. These documents can be found below.
