Insight on Tour @Women in Sport Week
- Tue, 21 Mar 2017 (10:00 - 13:00)
This three-hour workshop focuses on 'leveraging influencers and role models for the benefit of sport for women and girls'. Discussions centre on Women in Sports ground-breaking 'What Sways Women to Play Sport?' research (2015) and explore how this can be used to change sporting behaviours locally.
The workshop begins with sharing of the methodology and investigating the differences between role models and influencers in relation to women and girls in sport. Then goes on explore the main research findings, discussing the six spheres of influence and how they can interact with the behaviour change journey. Crucially, the second half of the workshops focus on the activation of this research, examining how to utilise the spheres of influence to have a positive impact on local programmes and products.
These workshops are very interactive in nature, involving individual and group tasks, while thinking about real examples through some case studies. There is also plenty of time for delegates to network and share good practice.
The events are aimed at Sports Development professionals who work with local and regional networks to engage women and girls in sport and physical activity at all levels.
Cost to attend: £35.00 (Teas and coffee available, lunch not included)
