Notes
I work for SCC Children and Young Peoples Services, Outdoor
and Residential Education, but I work in partnership with SWSA
(Suffolk Water Sports Association). SWSA are a non-profit making
organisation whose aim is to provide people from some Suffolk with
access to water sports.
SWSA has 3 of its own water sports centres and also runs an
operation out of Alton Reservoir
- Deben Water Sports Centre Woodbridge
- Neptune Water Sports Centre Woolverstone Marina
- SWSA@ Alton Water
- Oulton Broad Water Sports Centre
SWSA primarily works with schools and youth groups in Suffolk
providing sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and power
boating programmes. We also work closely with Pupil Referral Units
and Outreach organisations.
The organisation also runs public access courses for both
adult and young people.
We also have our own water sports youth groups on the Orwell
and the Deben rivers, whilst our centre in Oulton Broad runs a
project, in connection with Ipswich Town Football Club and
Newmarket Race Course, called playing for success, the Ripple

The Royal Yachting Association, Suffolk Watersports Association and
the many people and organisations who sponsor us financially. It is
our aim to give people the fun and freedom of sailing with the help
