Volunteers

Without our sporting volunteers, there would be no sport. There are nearly six million sports volunteers across the country (14% of the adult population), helping to run more than 100,000 sports clubs. Suffolk Sport aims to support voluntary sports clubs within the county by helping them to recruit and retain volunteers. We have produced a Long-Term Volunteering Strategy outlining how we will do this. To read the full document, click HERE.  To see the current One-Year Action Plan from the Strategy, click HERE

As well as the support provided by Suffolk Sport, there are other, non-sporting organisations which can also support your club. For more info about this, click HERE or see the Suffolk Volunteering Federation (SVF) or Suffolk Association of Voluntary Organisations (SAVO) websites.

The diverse nature of sport provides varied and interesting opportunities for those that have not traditionally been involved with sports clubs to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the club on a voluntary basis. For more info about becoming a sports volunteer, click here

If your club is looking for more volunteers, then Suffolk Sport may be able to help. You may be struggling to recruit new committee members, coaches or other regular helpers, or you just need a few extra pairs of hands for a one-off event. Either way, we can get your volunteer vacancy advertised on www.do-it.org.uk, which is looked at by more than 100,000 potential volunteers each month. We will also forward your vacancy details to your nearest Volunteer Centre, so that they can pass the information on to local people who make enquiries about becoming a volunteer.

All you need to do is complete the two forms below. You only need to complete the Orgnaisation Registration Form once, and you can submit Opportunity Registration Forms as often as you like for as many opportunities as you can offer.

These forms are available to download here.
